A locker network located at a high-footfall area lets consumers collect parcels at a convenient time and avoid missing deliveries. It is more environmentally friendly since e-commerce operators do not need to transport each delivery door-to-door. This solution will support the needs of the public in last-mile delivery while enabling a logistics service to achieve high productivity and optimize operating costs.

Case Studies

Guests at Singapore’s Hotel Jen check in with their faces

Instead of a long queue at the check-in counter after a long flight, guests at Hotel Jen in Singapore can choose to register at a self-service kiosk by scanning their faces to verify their identity. With their ID confirmed, NEC biometrics solution enables guests to receive a room key quickly within minutes.

  • Improved arrival experience for guests
  • Reduced administrative workload for staff
  • Staff can focus on meaningful interactions with guests and provide memorable experiences during their stay.

Smart digital signage go up in Indonesia

In 2022, NEC worked with Sinar Mas Land to create smart digital signage with NEC FieldAnalyst Software technology, starting with two pilot areas in BSD City. The project taps on cameras in real-time and uses NEC's biometric technology to recognize faces and classify them by age group and gender. This is only used to identify profiles according to customer groups and no personal data information is stored.

  • Signage owners can track real-time data on the number of viewers
  • Advertisers can thus pay the appropriate rate based on the exposure
  • Knowing the profile of a person standing in front of it, a digital signage will play the most suitable advertisement
