NEC showcases Biometric system with facial recognition at Digital Thailand Big Bang 2018
Bangkok, 18 September 2018 – NEC Corporation (Thailand) Ltd. today announced that it will participate in the “Digital Thailand Big Bang 2018” conference and exhibition organized by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society at Challenger hall, Impact Muangthongthani from 19-23 September 2018. The NEC booth forms part of the Japan Pavilion.
The key exhibits from NEC include a live demonstration of an intelligent video surveillance system equipped with NeoFace facial recognition AI engine, which is recognized as the fastest and most accurate facial recognition algorithm in the world (*). NEC’s facial recognition system is currently implemented in more than 40 countries for a wide range of applications such as law enforcement, crime labs, retail stores, entertainment venues and critical infrastructure. In addition to the facial recognition system, NEC will exhibit its iris recognition technology and Mobile Biometric solutions at the booth.
During the event, NEC will also showcase its disaster warning systems which predict the risk of natural disaster such as flood and landslide by performing a simulation based on meteorological data, topographical data and so on. This enables government and city officials to issue early warnings to threatened areas, helping to reduce potential damage. NEC has successfully completed the trial of the systems with Thailand’s National Disaster Warning Center (NDWC) in 2016 and 2017.
