Bangkok, 23 November 2020 - NEC Corporation (Thailand) Ltd. (NEC Thailand) has appointed Mr. Ichiro Kurihara as its new President, effective on  23 November 2020.

Prior to this appointment, Mr. Kurihara was the President Director of NEC Indonesia where he led NEC’s growth and operations in the country since 2016. Under his leadership, NEC Indonesia solidified its position as a leading ICT solutions provider in the market.

Mr. Kurihara, with nearly 30 years of experience in NEC, has an extensive managerial record in international sales and business operations across the Southeast and Southwest Asian markets. He had previously served in NEC Thailand from 2003 to 2009, mainly managing the domestic telecom carrier business.

Mr. Kurihara said, “I am proud to be appointed President of NEC Thailand and delighted to be returning to the country where I spent a significant part of my career. As we stand on the cusp of the digital transformation amidst the uncertainties caused by COVID-19, it is imperative we fully embrace new ways of working for Thailand to be successful. We are ready to support Thailand’s digitalization journey with our latest breakthroughs in communications, smart city and AI-related technologies.”

Mr. Kurihara replaces Mr. Takayuki Kano, who had been President of NEC Thailand since 2016. Mr. Kano is returning to Japan for a new assignment at NEC Corporation.
